to "mornings on 2". i'm dave clark. >> good morning. i'm tori campbell. it's wednesday, december 5th. >>> in the pouring rain, berkeley crime technicians spent the night collecting schools in a fatal shooting outside of a school. alex savidge is live where a woman riding her bicycle was gunned down there. alex? >> reporter: good morning. the woman was likely in her late 40s and early 50s. so far she's not been identified. she was riding her bike along this stretch of sacramento street late last night when she was shot to death. the circumstances before that shooting still unclear for berkeley police. this shooting happened right now next door to the yard here at longfellow middle school. this street was blocked off for several hours early this morning as investigators gathered evidence out here. just a few hours ago, the coroner came in and took away the woman's body. berkeley police got this call around 11:30 last night 911 calls came in. a lieutenant described this as a seemingly innocuous call, except when officers arrived, they saw the woman was shot. she was pronounced dead on t

caused problems. good afternoon, i am tori campbell. we are moving through the area. we have meteorologist mark tamayo with us. >> here is brian flores. >> reporter: you can see, behind me, as they are heading into the city, traffic is moving nicely. a 3-car are accident caused some major accidents. >> major injury accident causing massive delays into main county and now it is -- into marin county. >> reporter: that was after 8:00. that was a car traveling southbound and crashed into two cars headed in the opposite direction. chp said no major injuries reported in the accident. traffic was literally at a stand still. northbound traffic was stopped completely and southbound traffic was stopped intermittently while they stopped the accident. >> they were not moving anywhere. and they were running out of gas or their batteries died and we were headed towards the accident. traffic was at a crawl. they had to make changes to the work day or where they were going and they were running very late. >> i am like 30, 40 minutes late. >> i think every time, it is starting to be rainy, it

of food cans and they chased a huge success this year when campbell's soup said we're going to take the bpa out, we're waiting for a timeline from them and waiting for them to replace bpa with something safer, taking that first step was huge, even more significant perhaps is the campaign for safe cosmetics which has been around for about 10 years saying that -- getting johnson & jn -- johnson saying we're going to get carcinogens first out of our baby products across the whole world and that's really significant because they found formaldehyde in baby's johnson shampoo a few years ago, they tested it a few yearser later and found that johnson & johnson has taken it out of their products in china and other countries but not in the united states, well, if you can do it in one country, why can't you do it in all of them, doesn't everybody deserve safer baby shampoo no matter where they live? that put a lot of pressure on them because the consumers said we don't want those things in our products and the change happened and now they have a plan with timelines and clear transparent goals

, good morning. welcome to "mornings on 2." i'm dave clark. >> good morning. i'm tori campbell. we're tracking developing news of an accident that shut down a san francisco intersection. a driver took out a fire hydrant at folsom and essex near the onramp to the bay bridge. claudine wong is out there. are they getting close to reopening it yet, claudine? >> reporter: well, close, probably not but they are doing some important work right now. within the last half-hour since we last checked in with you, the crews for this scaffolding company have started to arrive. once the bus gets out of the way, you can see the work they are doing. what they told me they need to do is repair the collapsed bottom part of the scaffolding. once they do that -- and that could take a while -- then they will test it to make sure it is safe. if you pan across essex, you can see the entire area is shut down. that's because the fire department is out there. if there's any question about the structural integrity. this is entrance to the bay bridge. traffic at this point, just has to go around. let me show y

- breaking day for fed-ex. >>> good morning. i'm dave clark. >> i'm it it. >>> we be -- i'm tori campbell. >>> we begin with a big rig fire. it happened at 3:00 this morning. tara moriarty is live with more. good morning, tara. >> reporter: good morning. it's a route that this truck driver says he's taken twice a month. when he came through this parking lot here, there was a wire. he says that's not normally here. that's what the big rig snagged. if you look here you can see the remains of the truck here. now, we could see and hear sparks. there was an explosion and could you feel the heat yards away. it happened around 3:15 at sweeney camp which is part of the juvenile detention facility off fairmont drive. two men were trapped inside the big rig hit the power lines. he just happens to be a volunteer firefighter. >> he trains as a volunteer firefighter told him if you are in energized wires to jump. they may not have known they were energized at the time but they jumped. >> reporter: we've been speaking to the men. they are pretty grateful. the volunteer firefighter knew to jump and then

. welcome to "mornings on 2." i'm dave clark. >> i'm tori campbell. it's wednesday, december 12th. >>> we're following developing news in san jose. just hours ago, a pickup truck slammed into an apartment building where children were sleeping. ktvu's janine de la vega is in san jose and spoke to the children's father. good morning, janine. >> reporter: the father told me his family has not slept much but any are breathing a sigh of relief. their little girl was just brought home from the hospital. this is after a truck ran off the road. you can see where the tire marks are here and it ran off the road and plowed down a fence there and smashed into a bedroom. police say the driver of the truck traveling eastbound on taylor veered into oncoming traffic and crashed into an apartment at the villa apartments on 23rd street. now, here's a look at the damage inside. the truck crashed into a room where an 8-year-old boy was sleeping and then a room where a 2-year-old girl was screaming. >> my baby's mother has a lot of scars because of the glass. but fortunately, my baby was no hit with no glass
